Founded by two best friends and veterans, Curtis Link and Jon Anderson, our mission is to revive the bold flavors of traditional American rye whiskey, crafting exceptional spirits that honor the past while embracing innovation.

Curtis Link:
A Life of Service and Dedication
Curtis Link is a retired Army veteran and entrepreneur whose career is defined by discipline, precision, and unwavering dedication. His background in military intelligence honed the skills that have propelled his subsequent achievements.
Born and raised in rural Oregon, Curtis developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for community.
At 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, embarking on a distinguished military career that shaped his leadership, character, and sense of mission. Upon retiring from service, he continued his pursuit of excellence, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Grand Canyon University and a Master’s degree in Craft Whiskey from the prestigious Whiskey University.
Curtis has channeled his passion for service into tireless advocacy for his fellow veterans. In recognition of his significant contributions to civil service and his impactful support for military members and their families, he received the highest honor awarded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky; in 2024, Governor Andy Beshear commissioned him as a Kentucky Colonel.
This commitment to community and excellence is the cornerstone of his latest venture, the Anderson & Link Whiskey Company, where he applies his love of history and dedication to craft into every bottle of single malt rye.
Jon Anderson:
A Man of Exploration and Precision
Jon Anderson is a man defined by a historian’s curiosity and an explorer’s resilience. His keen eye for detail and profound appreciation for heritage were not just learned, but earned through a winding path that took him from the halls of academia to the discipline of military service and the grit of heavy industry. This rich, unconventional journey shaped his unique worldview and now fuels the authenticity behind every bottle of whiskey the duo produces.
From a young age in Houston, Jon was obsessed with history—not just the dates and facts, but the human stories behind them. He followed this passion through college, building a strong analytical foundation while immersing himself in the epics of the past and the forgotten narratives of those who came before him. After graduation, feeling a profound sense of duty and a desire to serve a cause greater than himself, he answered a call to serve and joined the U.S. Army.
However, a service-related injury brought this chapter to an untimely close, demanding a new form of resilience to navigate his future. Undeterred, Jon pivoted, channeling his drive into a successful career in the oil and gas industry. It was in these challenging, real-world proving grounds that he mastered the values of hard work and adaptability, applying his sharp intellect and unwavering resolve daily.
Ultimately, Jon sought a way to synthesize the distinct chapters of his life. His journey came full circle when he decided to combine his lifelong passions with his hard-won technical skills, becoming an expert surveyor who uses cutting-edge drone and 3D LIDAR technology to map and explore the world in a new way. He discovered that the same meticulous focus required to reveal a landscape’s hidden contours is essential to crafting a complex spirit.
Today, this unique background in historical inquiry, disciplined service, and hands-on engineering serves as the creative engine for Anderson & Link, ensuring every spirit is rich with a story that is both precisely crafted and profoundly authentic.
